In September 2022, we delivered a new event for the Swedish clothing brand, Fjällräven. It was the first UK version of their Classic series of multi-day wilderness treks, taking place over 4 days in Scotland.
Fjällräven Classic events are already established in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, USA, and Korea. The brand chose Rare Management to plan and deliver all aspects of the organisation. We researched the route, negotiated with landowners, managed the crew and volunteers team, transfers, checkpoints, medical cover and event control.
Fjällräven Classic events are also a way of educating, informing and inspiring trekkers. It’s all about sharing ideas for how you can minimise our environmental impacts and run a sustainable event in one of the UK’s finest wilderness areas. The spirit of the trek is to move at your own pace and reconnect with yourself. It was not a competition.
From 13-16 September 2022, around 200 participants were welcomed at Mar Lodge, near Braemar, to explore a stunning 65kms loop in the Cairngorms National Park. At the finish line, trekkers were piped across the finish line for the ultimate Scottish experience. Weary but happy trekkers were embraced Highland Country Dancing with a memorable Ceilidh in the magnificent Stag Ballroom.
